Mysore Style Yoga

Applied non-duality

Josh’s practice extends far beyond the mat to the study and application of the ancient texts.

He held a fascination for metaphysics and philosophy since boyhood, and returned to his philosophical roots after a steadfast career in computer science. His approach is light-hearted and undeniably enthusiastic, encouraging practitioners to reimagine limitations of the bodies, resulting in clearer perceptions and altered awareness.

As a yoga teacher he conducted classes at gyms and yoga studios, quickly becoming popular with his laconic approach. He teaches the progressive Mysore style method found at Ashtanga Yoga Newcastle while maintaining his gaze on the more subtle approach to the ancient wisdom buried within Yoga Taravali and the Upanishads.

Josh’s debut book, The Spirit of the Matter, is an example of his devotion to the practice of yoga and clearly demonstrates the potential of reconciling pragmatism with asana and meditation to ensure the tangible benefits of yoga are felt in our everyday lives.

Josh’s second book, The Seer Sets the Seen, is a focused look at non-dual manifestation. The use of clear-minded intention and concentration to modify the world around us, while exposing the limiting beliefs accrued by materialist culture.
